About

Soc Media 101

It’s safe to say that social media is here to stay. I mean, Ellen DeGeneres is on Twitter, after all.

But, it’s so big, this social media thing! So much to learn, see, do. So many big, shiny buttons to push.

There are social networking sites, social bookmarking sites, online communities, blogs – and Twitter which defies definition because it’s basically a social media combo wrapped up into one, live package.

You’ll have people who will tell you social networking tools are time wasters or too complex to learn. But you just need to know the basic information and that’s what we hope this blog provides for you – a launching pad into the world of social media. We hope the tips and tricks we offer you on this blog arm you with the information you need to take your first steps into the social networking world.

We created Soc Media 101 for several reasons:

  • Time. Who’s got it? This blog promises to deliver bite-sized, totally usable, how-to, information about social media at the ground level.
  • It drives us crazy when people get all ‘popular table in high school’ about social media – there is beyond a doubt enough to go around and everyone deserves to learn how to use it.
  • In our social media travels, we’ve met so many smart, savvy people that we couldn’t resist compiling all that they’ve learned and all that we’ve learned into one easy-to-find place.

We’re here for the absolute beginner – to teach you the basics. If you have questions, wishes or comments, please contact us.
